Weekly Updates

Exploratory
The students finished their geography of the Spanish-speaking world unit with a quiz. We then started a more in-depth unit on Spain and watched a short video to introduce the country. Ask your student what interesting fact they learned!
 
Spanish A 
Students started learning the geography of the Spanish-speaking world. We colored in maps and did some activities to review what areas of the world the countries are located.
 
Spanish B
Students started learning the geography of the Spanish-speaking world. We colored in maps and did some activities to review what areas of the world the countries are located. Students are also practicing the vocabulary needed when introducing people to each other.
 

Exploratory

We’ve spent the week studying in what areas of the world all 21 Spanish-speaking countries are located. Ask your student to share the mnemonic device they created to remember the countries in North and Central America!


Spanish A

This week students listened to a short story and then have been doing all sorts of activities related to that story. They ended the week with a short reading comprehension quiz.


Spanish B

Students did a read and draw activity using the story they had practiced last week. We also have started reviewing and practicing with the vocabulary needed to make and respond to introductions.

Exploratory
This week students continued to learn about the geography of the Spanish-speaking world. We colored maps, listened to a song and learned about and tasted a dish that is common to all of Latin America. Ask your student if they enjoyed the arroz con habichuelas!
 
Spanish A
This week students continued to work with the vocabulary from last week.  We also practiced asking and giving our names in short dialogues.
 
Spanish B
This week students listened to a story, then did various activities based on the story. Ask your student if they enjoyed the "running dictation."  They ended the week with a listening quiz about the story and by reviewing greetings and salutations.
