I have taught at Highgate Elementary School for over 15 years. While at Highgate, I worked at the fifth and sixth grades. Prior to starting at Highgate Elementary, I worked as a substitute teacher in Grand Isle Supervisory Union and as a paraprofessional at Hyannis East Elementary School. I completed my undergraduate work at Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts, where I majored in Psychology and Elementary Education. I completed a wide variety of field experiences in the schools in nearby Waltham. I am currently a graduate student at St. Michael’s College. After finishing my School Leadership practicum this year, I will have completed my graduate coursework. I have also attended the Middle Grades Summer Institute multiple times.

I live in North Hero with my husband and son, which is also where I grew up. We enjoy being outside and active year round. Some of my hobbies include baking, reading, and completing projects around our new home.

After graduating from the University of Vermont (UVM) in 2002 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, I taught preschool and Kindergarten at a private school for one year. At that time, I decided to further my education and went back to school. While working full time for the Howard Center as a Behavior Interventionist, I earned an endorsement in Special Education from UVM and the Vermont Department of Education. I worked as a special educator in Richford, Vermont for five years. During those five years, I earned a Master’s degree in Special Education from Johnson State College. I joined the Milton faculty in 2009, where I worked as a special educator and co-teacher for three years in 5th and 6th grade. In 2012, I joined the middle school. It was during my middle school experience that I decided to move toward leadership. I am currently enrolled at St. Michael’s College in their Education Leadership program. I am a hard worker and will continuously find ways to improve my leadership skills. I am an advocate for the students and enjoy being in Milton.

I live in Milton with my husband, son, and brother with Down Syndrome. We are avid campers and love traveling. I enjoy participating and spectating in most sporting events. My son is interested in and takes part in many sports so if you see me on the field, rink, court, gym, etc. don’t hesitate to say hello!
