School Counseling

Welcome!

The school counseling program at Milton is based on the American School Counseling Association’s National Model. School counselors provide services to students, parents, school staff, and the community through direct and indirect services.

  • Direct Services
Direct Services are in-person interactions between school counselors and students. Direct Services include school counseling curriculum, small group counseling, individual student planning, as well as responsive services.
  • Indirect Services
Indirect services are provided on behalf of students as a result of the school counselors' interaction with others. These interactions include referrals for additional assistance, consultation, and collaboration with parents, teachers, and other educators and community organizations.

By providing these services school counselors develop a comprehensive school counseling program in which students’ academic, career, and personal/social needs are met.
